Social news aggregation and discussion website, Reddit, is currently experiencing a major outage incident, with users worldwide unable to access its website and mobile apps.
The site confirmed the outage on its official status page, and engineers are investigating the root cause.
Thousands of users have reported experiencing app, website, and server connection issues, with error messages indicating ongoing content delivery network (CDN) configuration issues.
This is not the first time Reddit has faced technical issues, with a partial outage on February 10 and another major outage on February 15, which prevented comments, awards, and karma from processing correctly.
The outage has resulted in Reddit users seeing error messages such as “Our CDN was unable to reach our servers” and “All of our servers are busy right now. Please try again in a minute.” Some users are also experiencing partial website loading, with an error message stating, “Sorry we couldn’t load posts for this page.” While Reddit is still investigating the cause of the outage, it appears to be a CDN issue that is causing connection issues for users.
This is not the first time Reddit has experienced technical difficulties.
In February, the site experienced two other outages that led to a severely degraded search experience and prevented comments, awards, and karma from processing correctly.
The site has not yet provided any further updates on the current outage or when it expects to be resolved.
It is unclear how long this outage will last, but it has caused widespread disruption for users worldwide who rely on Reddit for news, information, and discussion.
