Swedish media foundation, Qurium, reported that a Philippine-based human rights alliance Karapatan is the latest victim of targeted DDoS attacks. Karapatan’s website, Karapatan.org, suffered a series of DDoS attacks on July 29th, and the attacks continued as of 18th August 2021.
Interestingly, the unknown attackers targeted the human rights group at a time when its digital solidarity campaign was underway under the hashtag #StopTheKillingsPH. This campaign was launched to express resentment against the reported ongoing killings in the Philippines.
